Purpose:

The purpose of these designated funds are specifically for the Haring Center for Inclusive Education to partner with OSPI to support in the development of training materials and on-going support related to the implementation of the Pyramid Model and inclusive, equitable practices to support children statewide. The main goal of this partnership is to promote the inclusion and social emotional development of all children in early learning settings. This project includes the creation, facilitation and implementation support that will enable early learning educators to implement effective practices that support the learning, development, and inclusion of all children, families, and communities. We will build on the Pyramid Model and include crucial content related to serving children with disabilities and/or delays, and serving racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse children and families.

Special Education ESD LEAP Outreach Project

Purpose:

LEAP consultation is designed to be a two-year process. LEAP Consultant work with the entire team in one classroom setting. The process begins with a two-day training, highlighting the key components. Team members and LEAP Consultant work collaboratively to prioritize components of LEAP and develop a consultation schedule, including team meetings and classroom visits. It is essential that the LEAP Internal Coach is designated to the site attends all visits from the LEAP Consultant. The LEAP Consultant will work intensively with the Internal Coach(es) to be sure that their knowledge and skill are within fidelity of practice and that they have the coaching skills to support classroom teams during the two-year certification process and beyond.
