This project supports further implementation of the evidence-based framework of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) as an avenue of improving outcomes for students with disabilities in Washington State.

The project goal to support 75 certificated district and school administrators as they develop competencies for and actively engage in leading local implementation of MTSS structures and components will result in improved student academic and behavioral outcomes. The project will provide resources to continue to scale-up MTSS implementation in Washington state. The proposed model will increase the collaboration between district special education administrators and school principals and assistant principals.

•Year 3: Level 3 is taught, which has 5 lessons.
Each lesson takes 45 to 55 minutes to teach.

Readiness to Implement LifeSkills Grant

Purpose:

The purpose of this grant, is to allow schools, districts and/or ESDs to assist schools and districts in examining their Healthy Youth Survey data to assess the need for substance use prevention and intervention. This process is to inform school improvement and strategic planning and assess readiness to implement or refine substance use intervention and prevention strategies with special attention to specifically implementing Botvin LifeSkills Training (LST) Middle School Substance Abuse Prevention Program.

The Healthy Youth Survey is the only "student voice" survey administered throughout the whole state. It is voluntary and anonymous and asks students about their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors pertaining to a variety of health and safety topics, including school climate and community safety, anxiety and depression, substance use and abuse, as well as healthy eating habits and physical activity. Results can be found on the https://www.askhys.net website.
