Balanced/Modified School Year Calendar Study Grant

Form Package:  173

Eligible Subgrantees:  ESD, Public School, School District

Purpose:

The purpose of this form package is to provide Local Education Agencies (LEAs) the opportunity to apply for pilot funds during the 22-23 school year to study a modified school year calendar approach.

Successful LEAs will be awarded either $60,000 or $75,000 during the 22-23 school year.
  • Current FP 173 grantees (from the 21–22 school year) are eligible to apply for $60,000.

  • New LEAs (those who did not receive an FP 173 grant in the 21–22 school year) are eligible to apply for $75,000.
In addition to the funding, there will be two statewide summits, job alike sessions, regional meetings, and other activities to support the work. There are plans for continued funding for the 22-23 school year.

Since this is a study, and through the study, if district personnel/school boards decide to not pursue the modified calendar, you will not face adverse action.
