Mid-year WaKIDS 101 and Inter-rater Reliability Teacher Compensation

Purpose:

The purpose of this iGrants form package is to reimburse school districts in order to compensate kindergarten teachers new to WaKIDS who complete the online WaKIDS 101 training between November 7, 2022 – February 8, 2023, at a rate of $360. And who complete their Inter-Rater Reliability (IRR) certificate by February 8, 2023. Districts can claim $120 per teacher new to WaKIDS who complete the IRR certification prior to February 8, 2023.

Readiness to Implement LifeSkills Grant

Eligible Subgrantees:  ESD; Private School; Public School; School District; Tribal School

Purpose:

The purpose of this grant, is to allow schools, districts and/or ESDs to assist schools and districts in examining their Healthy Youth Survey data to assess the need for substance use prevention and intervention. This process is to inform school improvement and strategic planning and assess readiness to implement or refine substance use intervention and prevention strategies with special attention to specifically implementing Botvin LifeSkills Training (LST) Middle School Substance Abuse Prevention Program.

After examining the Healthy Youth Survey, schools are not required to implement the LifeSkills Curriculum, but should share their findings with OSPI.

Facilitator Training Grant for Botvin LifeSkills Training Middle School Curriculum

Purpose:

Before anyone teaches the Botvin LifeSkills Training Middle School curriculum they need to be trained in it. This grant allows educators/counselors to participate in the "Middle School Online Training" offered directly by Botvin LifeSkills. This grant will also cover the cost of the Teacher's Manual and Student Guide needed for the training.

NOTE:  This grant is only to cover the cost of educators to be trained in the LifeSkills Training (LST) Curriculum and to purchase training material for the online training.

The LifeSkills Training for Middle School program is designed to be taught in sequence over three (3) years to youth in grades 6-8.
  • Year 1: Students are taught Level 1 of the program, which has 15 lessons.

  • Year 2: Level 2 is taught, which has 10 lessons.

  • Year 3: Level 3 is taught, which has 5 lessons.
